OC VOICETEST FOR BRYN PENDRAGON
"claire don't you have enough OCs" nO
- Around twentyish years old, s m o l and petite like a strong breeze would blow her over. Has super long lilac hair and a rose growing in place of her right eye.
- Dressed in a very pretty froufy combo of a dress and armour, all in shades of white and lilac. She wields a spear.
- Charged up with the magic of a dragon, despite not actually being a dragon herself. She may ping as some combo of "dragon", "half-dragon" or "undead" to characters sensitive to magic.
- Much much MUCH more physically strong and resilient than her appearance lets on
- Book smart, educated and well-spoken but shockingly street dumb
- Curious and inquisitive, quick to learn, but also a total airhead
- Friendly, kind, well-meaning (mostly)
- Occasionally kind of smug and condescending to humans, as a result of being raised by a dragon
- Kind of an enormous rage-fueled mess on the inside but she's (not) coping. It's fine
- In apparent possession of any common sense or sense of self-preservation
- Genuinely cruel, actively malicious or mean-spirited to the average person
- Blessed with more than one single braincell
- Familiar with modern day culture or technology
- BRYN IS:
BRYN IS NOT:
Like my usual CMOs, I'm totally happy to roll with assumed CR, AUs, setting transplants, BASICALLY ANYTHING YA LITTLE HEART MAY DESIRE, I'M HERE TO GET ON WITH IT

For the record. On the chance we don't survive this. I just want you to know- I'm completely sure this is your fault.
[Well, possibly. She still wasn't entirely sure how things had gone this badly; but when under-caffeinated and in doubt, blame the extrovert.]
[She finds what she's after in her bag, pulling out a spool of thread and a tiny cushion full of pins and needles.]
I can do a thing, but it's gonna keep me a little tied up, think you can bust some heads and cover me?

On the [redacted] day of [redacted murdergame], Azura approaches a little too stealthily and holds out Bryn's lance. ]
This is yours, I presume.
[ ...........??? you gonna explain how you got it?? ]
...I received it with the usual pile of garbage we're given every week.
[ regain gacha, ok ]

The point is mostly that once Bryn sees her lance, her face lights up even more brightly than usual. She's practically sparkling. ]
Sigrdrifa! [ because of course she named her lance. of course she fucking did. She'll go ahead and take it back, handling it with a deftness that implies immense familiarity. ] Of all the things for you to receive... oh, but I'm glad you did.

Or rather, you're in the shanty town just outside, where a fox-girl is waving a flag. the flag is more like a tablecloth tied to a laundry pole, and it has 'CHAOS' spraypainted, badly, onto it.]
Oh! Hello! I haven't seen you before! Are you a new student?
[... her tail is wagging like a dog's.]
no subject
How curious! She has no idea how this could've happened but you can bet your ass she's going to be sticking her nose into just about everything until she works it out. ]
Oh, not at all! In fact, I don't even know where I am!
[ at least she's... honest... ]

There's a rumor riding about of late, though, disturbing the peace. Something about a ghost. Something about a lich, people take to correcting each other after a while - when you knock your soul loose to become one, you also knock the good and bad parts of the soul apart, and your conscience goes wandering. Read it in a book somewhere. Definitely a lich-shadow. You see the Knights out of late, it's a lich they're looking for, the Royal Knight of Roses was out here just yesterday saying nobody panic -
and so on, etc.
Other than that, all seems more or less well. There's a handful of lesser dragons in residence here, and a handful of people known for getting on with them, and the young Knight of the Dragon's Book is no landed aristocrat but he has a modest manor with spare rooms and knows to admire a proper dragon's pupil when he sees one. He's all stoicism and stern decorum and cool, steady confidence, even when he has to ask Bryn to leave his sister to her own company while pretending he trusts the request will be honored.
Erika is sickly, and shy, and even the house's three servants see little of her. She keeps to the third floor almost exclusively. She receives orders of books frequently. The same servants shake their heads wearily with faint smiles if asked to describe her. They recount brief but harrowing encounters.
Their healthy fear is probably why none of the doors on the third floor are unlocked. They've just...never had to be.]

Which is why it's sort of refreshing that she hasn't had to go through that whole song and dance with her rooming for the time being. She expects it, of course, from a knight carrying the banner of any sort of dragon, but she still appreciates it. So she doesn't push it. She smiles, nods along and promises to be on her very best behaviour – she's been given rules and it would be awful uncouth of her to break them.
And of course, the first thing Bryn does once she's left unsupervised is break them.
She trots upstairs onto the third floor with the breezy confidence of someone who fully believes they have all the right in the world to be making their presence everyone else's problem. She does, at least, have the decency to knock at the first door she sees though instead of just bursting in. Apparently, she has some boundaries. ]
Hello in there, if that's where you are! I'm looking for the lady of the house!

[ "this time", she says, as if Einar is a man constantly jumping at his own shadow. Maybe this is just the mental image she's stubbornly constructed of him, as is her right as the Obnoxious Younger Sibling. ]

...Well, one of them is. Maybe it will rub off on her.]
Miss Pendragon. [Calm approach. We're all friends here.
...He doesn't exactly have friendly energy at the best of times, though. He's. Trying.] If you could spare a moment, there is something that I would like to discuss.

Of course! We're travelling companions, taking the road by storm, just like in all the stories. You can talk to me about anything!

so now she's just traveling with them, studying magic as she goes, and has decided she's going to just be a super strong witch and find her FIRST LOVE again that way.]
Oi, Byrn.
[she says it like 'burn'. she knows she's pronouncing it wrong. it's a nickname now, okay.]
Got a question about that eye of yours.

Spacemurder - First Meetings - idk I guess this is Airlocked Gaiden now
[The wide windows in the chrome hallway provide a crystal clear view of the stars outside. It's astonishingly beautiful, and Valor looks torn between awe and abject, screaming terror, hand pressed against the cool glass.]
...N-ope!
[And looks like terror is winning. He spins on a heel, pulling the massive brim of his hat down over his eyes.]
Nope, nope, I'm not doing this, you can't make me.
no subject
Excuse me! I don't mean to trouble you, but have you seen what's happening outside the windows? I've never seen stars so close! Aren't they beautiful? Where is this place, I wonder?

Brynhilde? Supper is nearly ready. Are you going to eat with us?
no subject
That doesn't stop her from starting a bit, like she's been caught doing something wrong, when she hears Naja approach. As uneasy as the truce between siblings is proving to be, Naja's been nothing but kind in spite of it all. It leaves her feeling caught between admiration and intimidation in roughly equal measure and so she's a touch meeker now than she might be inclined to be with any of the others. ]
Oh – you wouldn't mind having me at supper with you? [ She says it like she's a guest passing through and not a family member here to stay. ] I wouldn't want to put extra work on the kitchen staff if it's not needed...

finally climbs in for Some Kind Of Jamjar Nonsense
for one thing, it's a huge, fluffy dragon. for another, it's picked the tallest, most visible spot it could find to sprawl out, feathered wings and long tail all half spread to soak up the sunlight as it
sulksbasks. the whole thing is either extremely majestic, or an extremely unsubtle message of cat-like refusal to be ruffled by the whole "kidnapped to another world" thing depending on the perspective of the one looking at it.that steady nonchalance is perhaps ruined by it slitting an eye open the instant Bryn gets anywhere even remotely near it, and then lifting its head to give her a long, steady stare. ]
no subject
If anyone finds this statement dubious, they're polite enough to not say so to her face.
Which is why she has no reason to think she shouldn't set off to meet with him right away. She doesn't even look deterred when he cracks open an eye and fixes her with a stare – unbelievably, she just beams at him. ]
So you are awake! I was certain you wouldn't have simply nodded off so quick in a place like this.
