Bryn is a travelling warrior all jacked up on the power of a dragon and out on a revenge roadtrip against the prince who destroyed her home. Despite how edgy that description makes her sound, she's actually a cheerful, high-energy sheltered weirdo with maybe one braincell to speak of who is having SO MUCH FUN out here on her wild adventure. BRYN IS:

• Around twentyish years old, s m o l and petite like a strong breeze would blow her over. Has super long lilac hair and a rose growing in place of her right eye.
  
• Dressed in a very pretty froufy combo of a dress and armour, all in shades of white and lilac. She wields a spear.
  
• Charged up with the magic of a dragon, despite not actually being a dragon herself. She may ping as some combo of "dragon", "half-dragon" or "undead" to characters sensitive to magic.
  
• Much much MUCH more physically strong and resilient than her appearance lets on
  
• Book smart, educated and well-spoken but shockingly street dumb
  
• Curious and inquisitive, quick to learn, but also a total airhead
  
• Friendly, kind, well-meaning (mostly)
  
• Occasionally kind of smug and condescending to humans, as a result of being raised by a dragon
  
• Kind of an enormous rage-fueled mess on the inside but she's (not) coping. It's fine

[From the moment they arrived, which was just a few hours ago, everyone has been confident Arianna and Bryn are perfect roommates. And certainly, they got along instantly--they don't seem likely to get into any big arguments or anything.

There is, however, one major drawback to putting the two of them together.]

[It's full of boxes. A tall one, a small one hanging from the cabinets, one next to the sink, one on the counter, one with some kind of circles on top of it...]

[Ned crouched behind a heavy, overturned pub table, digging through her travel-worn leather satchel. It's a brief shelter from the utter chaos the rest of the tavern has descended into, but probably not for long.]

For the record. On the chance we don't survive this. I just want you to know- I'm completely sure this is your fault.

[Well, possibly. She still wasn't entirely sure how things had gone this badly; but when under-caffeinated and in doubt, blame the extrovert.]

[She finds what she's after in her bag, pulling out a spool of thread and a tiny cushion full of pins and needles.]

[That's not a contrast for long. It doesn't take much to cheer Arianna up most of the time, and undisguised glee is almost infallible in this area. Especially when it's paired with one of the few things she more or less understands.]

It's an indoor water pump! Dame Regina had one in her kitchen. The design was somewhat different, but it was above a similar basin.

[ Bryn's also crouched behind the table – not because she's in any apparent fear for her safety like a normal person would be, but because she's never been in a barfight before and following Ned's lead seems like it might be fun. Really, Bryn's just here for a good time. ]

[welcome to University Excalibur, a school on an island, where the school is shaped like a giant sword plunged into the ground. It's full of morons and idiots, teenagers learning to transform into superheroes to fight aliens.

Or rather, you're in the shanty town just outside, where a fox-girl is waving a flag. the flag is more like a tablecloth tied to a laundry pole, and it has 'CHAOS' spraypainted, badly, onto it.]

Surely they're not just for decoration, are they? No, they're some sort of switch. But what on earth for?

[ She gives the top of the stove a little tap – thankfully it's not actually hot yet, so we're saved the horror story that might've otherwise been. ]

It's smooth glass... and it has these little circles... could it be for– oh! Goodness, look at that!

[ And just on cue, one of the burners suddenly lights up red as it starts getting nice and toasty. ]

[WHAT STRANGE MAGIC IS IT CASTING? Arianna moves her hand toward the burner as dramatic music probably plays... then stops.]

The air is warmer now. Perhaps there's a fire inside.

[ Bryn's been a pretty constant source of happy, bubbly energy the whole time they've all been stuck in here, despite the awful Everything that's been going on around them. It's... honestly kind of weird? But probably nothing to worry about.

The point is mostly that once Bryn sees her lance, her face lights up even more brightly than usual. She's practically sparkling. ]

Sigrdrifa! [ because of course she named her lance. of course she fucking did. She'll go ahead and take it back, handling it with a deftness that implies immense familiarity. ] Of all the things for you to receive... oh, but I'm glad you did.

[ ... well that's strange. She's reasonably sure she wasn't in front of this strange tower a moment ago? Yes, that's right, she was with Reifr and Rakel and everyone else and they were just setting out and then next thing... she was here.

How curious! She has no idea how this could've happened but you can bet your ass she's going to be sticking her nose into just about everything until she works it out. ]

[Okay, this. This is why she's worried. And often aggravated. This is not a "good time" situation, this is in fact the opposite.]

The kind where you keep anyone from punching my head off. Please.

[Ned's got a long, thin sewing needle on the end of the thread, and she's. Kind of. Making a weird sort of cat's cradle pattern with it? And then just sort of jabs her thumb into the needle with a practiced lack of flinching. If Bryn's got any kind of magic spidey-sense going on, that's the moment at which whatever Ned's doing will start pinging it as Being A Thing.]

And- and I really hope I don't actually have to say this, I am choosing to trust but verify here- don't kill anyone, this is messy enough as it is.

[ SHE SEES NOTHING WRONG WITH NAMING WEAPONS. But "Sigrdrifa", huh? Sure sounds a lot like Brynhildr and Siegfried, she thinks.

At Bryn's sheer excitement, Azura cracks a small smile. It's kind of infectious, even for someone perpetually sour like her. ]

Sigrdrifa? Is that its name, then?

Ah, a fire summoning spell!

[ Bryn nods sagely, and stoops a little so she can open the oven and peek inside. Her brow creases with confusion when she doesn't see fire and she pops back up for a second to confirm that the stove is, indeed, still lit. ]

But there's no fire in here! And it's still so cold. Where could the heat be coming from?

Indeed! I named it with the hopes that we'd find victory together.

[ It's honestly kind of charming how earnestly and sincerely she trots out a line like that. God bless your little heart, Bryn. ]
