Bryn is a travelling warrior all jacked up on the power of a dragon and out on a revenge roadtrip against the prince who destroyed her home. Despite how edgy that description makes her sound, she's actually a cheerful, high-energy sheltered weirdo with maybe one braincell to speak of who is having SO MUCH FUN out here on her wild adventure. BRYN IS:

Around twentyish years old, s m o l and petite like a strong breeze would blow her over. Has super long lilac hair and a rose growing in place of her right eye.
Dressed in a very pretty froufy combo of a dress and armour, all in shades of white and lilac. She wields a spear.
Charged up with the magic of a dragon, despite not actually being a dragon herself. She may ping as some combo of "dragon", "half-dragon" or "undead" to characters sensitive to magic.
Much much MUCH more physically strong and resilient than her appearance lets on
Book smart, educated and well-spoken but shockingly street dumb
Curious and inquisitive, quick to learn, but also a total airhead
Friendly, kind, well-meaning (mostly)
Occasionally kind of smug and condescending to humans, as a result of being raised by a dragon
Kind of an enormous rage-fueled mess on the inside but she's (not) coping. It's fine

BRYN IS NOT:

In apparent possession of any common sense or sense of self-preservation

[ his voice is very quiet for his size, his tone measured. ...mostly. there is a hint of amusement there, for ???some reason??? ]

Oh, do you think so? But I can't imagine there'd be much of anything here that could pose a threat to a dragon!

[ She laughs and it's a merry sound, completely free of any apparent fear or caution in the face of... well, all this. ]

Really, more than anything, I'm just glad there's two of us now!

[ ... aaaaaand that'd be why. ]

[ he huffs out a long, slow breath. his body language might be less than familiar to her, considering it is approximately 90% massive amounts of fluff, but he's poofed up gently and gives her another lazy blink. ]

...Fledgling.

[ it's as much a statement as it is anything else. he is apparently willing to accept "two of us" at face value... somewhat. ]

What do you think a dragon's greatest threat is?

[ At the word fledging, Bryn – she doesn't have the same sort of floof that Bane does, obviously, but fluffs up is about the only way to convey the way she lights up. it's very Happy Ghibli Protagonist. Bryn knows very well what she is and she doesn't need anyone else's validation for it... but the acknowledgment makes her feel giddy and gleeful. ]

Why, there's simply no such thing! [ But her voice is playful, so it's clear even before she continues that her response is facetious. ] But I suppose if I were to say anything, it couldn't be anything but fellow dragons, could it?

[ he puffs again, this time resulting in a thin trickle of sulfurous-smelling smoke. ]

Dragons may be threatened by other dragons. They may also be threatened by those who are not dragons, or fall to disease or accident in the same manner as any other living thing.

[ that could be an answer, but... he's still watching her, waiting patiently. ]

Well, I can't deny it's certainly possible...

[ As she knows all too well. But that doesn't put a dampener on her sunny confidence at all – in fact, she pulls herself up all tall as she can (not that it makes much difference, really) and, with the completely unearned confidence of a dumb kid who's just clever enough to get themselves into trouble but never smart enough to stay out of it, she announces– ]

But I've been here long enough to be able to tell for certain. I'd be shocked if anyone else here could pose much of a threat to us!

[ another puffing sigh, and then he opens his mouth wide and strikes. jaws large enough to swallow her whole snap shut deliberately just shy of her face— but the gesture isn't particularly aggressive, somehow, despite... well, teeth. lots of them. nearly as long as she is tall. ]

A dragon's greatest threat is hubris, fledgling. Remember that, or it will eventually become your final lesson.

[ To her credit, Bryn stands her ground. But that's maybe the only thing that can be said. Her brazen smile isn't wiped off her face, but her lips thin a little and she does lean back. But she stands her ground.

Is it bravery or idiocy? You make the call.

But then after a moment to collect herself, Bryn visibly swallows and takes a hesitant step forward. But just as before, there's a defiant jut to her chin as she looks up at Bane and declares, unbelievably – ]

I'll learn, so long as it's you who teaches me. [ She's fully aware of the audacity of her own words, but she refuses to back down. ] I've no one else to learn from anymore, so how else will I learn?

... Greedy child.

[ it isn't an insult, though. his tone is amused, even approving, as he rouses all his feathers and resettles them into place. he spreads one wing wide, mantling it over her—

aaand yoink. enjoy getting folded right up against his side, Bryn. at least the sheer amount of fluff means her biggest danger is overheating. ]

The world teaches. Only the foolish and the wilfully blind ignore the lessons.

Hyah–!

[ There's no particularly dignified way to transcribe the noise of surprise that comes out of her way – but then again, there's not anything particularly dignified about the way she wriggles in protest a bit, like a fussy kitten getting scruffed and taken out of trouble. But then with a little huff, she settles. It's hardly the worst spot she's been in. ]

That's hardly the case for a world like this. Even back home, there's hardly any other dragons I know of... I've no idea who I could ever even hope to learn from. It's quite frustrating!

[ if she's a fussy kitten, he's a broody hen; he rearranges himself a bit to resume sunbathing, paying no attention to her wiggling. if his body happens to curl around the spot where she's currently buried in his down, that's simply a reasonable position to take for comfort's sake. ]

Perhaps you are only a nestling after all. Nestlings are supposed to be foolish.

[ he continues thoughtfully, sounding more like he's speaking to himself than to her: ]

There are those with foreign magics here to learn from, and anything holding the power to trap me is something worth studying.

[ Bryn sort of grumbles to herself at the thought. If she wanted to learn from the people here, she would've asked them – but she's just about wise enough to hold her tongue on that. ]

We've been doing our best since we got here – from what some of them say, it sounds like there's people here who shouldn't even be alive, let alone... well. Wherever this is.

[ The dismissive disgust in her tone is pretty pointed in a way very uncharacteristic of her. ]

So whatever it is that's holding us is definitely all kinds of powerful.

[ ...hums, a low rumble of vibration more felt than heard with her current position ]

Worth studying indeed.

[ not that he would be interested in fully reversing death himself, but... to be able to, say, preserve a "life" while unraveling an enchantment too thoroughly woven into it to otherwise remove without consequence...?

Since it's done before any of us even arrive here, I don't know how we'd manage to get close enough to study it.
