Erina
[As evidenced by the large horde of Grimm that now lay around the ravaged forest, Penny and Erina the center of the devastation.]
Erina-! Are you okay?!
[Is this panic warranted? Probably not. But Penny's doing it anyway, that battle was pretty rough.]
no subject
She'd been knocked flat on her back at the last second and though it was a nasty blow, it doesn't look like it knocked her out – she's getting back up onto her feet fairly fast, at least. But she's got one hell of a black eye and there's a garish stream of blood making its way down her face as she speaks. ]
What the shit. Can you believe that asshole bowled me over like that?
[ She uh seems to be a little punchdrunk but she'll probably survive. ]
no subject
[Penny is squatting to help Erina up to her feet. Her first move is to try physically lifting the other girl, but it quickly becomes apparent that she's getting up under her own power, so Operation Support Lift is a go.]
Yes? Yes. That's actually entirely in keeping with the way Grimm tend to act.
[And. Kind of. Gingerly checking for the source of that blood? Head wounds tend to bleed disproportionately to how bad they actually are, she's pretty sure, but what's the sitch.]
no subject
[ We can probably put this one down as a concussion, honestly.
Despite the bleeding, though, it doesn't look like she's taken too bad of a blow. It's mostly just some split skin along her hairline, probably just from the sheer force of impact, and her lip is similarly split where it probably snagged on her teeth where she took that blow to the fact. Yeowch. ]
We get 'em all?
no subject
[That, at least, comes out bright and chipper.]
[She kind of. Gingerly wipes away some of the blood from Erina's forehead. Mostly it just kind of smears, they'll need to actually wash it once they're somewhere safe.]
You were amazing.
no subject
Alright, good. Because if I have to take another one of those down before I take a nap, I'm calling a mutiny. [ did you know you can just say words in whatever order you want and it doesn't matter? ] What's the damage, anyway? Am I close to death or am I gonna live to see another day?
no subject
[Words are fake, reality is a hologram, etc.]
Uh.... it doesn't look like you're cut too badly, but you mi-i-ight have kind of a concussion? I'm not sure how to tell.
no subject
[ She trails off and lets that hang in the air briefly and then she flaps her hand dismissively. ]
Oh god, why the hell are you listening to me? I'm fucking concussed. I'm talking a load of shit.
[ i can't believe the grimm knocked some self-awareness into her. ]
no subject
[The true victim here, Penny's vocabulary. RIP in fucking rest.]
Also, I think if you're concussed you're supposed to keep talking to stay awake? I think.
[Does either of them have any actual medical knowledge, signs point to no.]
no subject
[ Suddenly (apparently) deadly serious, Erina claps a hand onto Penny's shoulder. ]
You don't have to spare my feelings. I've never articulated an interesting thought in my fucking life. I talk nonsense from AM to PM.
no subject
[Is this more concussion talk.]
Oh no, you must be hurt a lot worse than I thought.
[Let her see the wound again, LET HER SEE IT.]
no subject
[ Erina whines theatrically but makes no effort to get away – in fact she tips her head forward a bit towards Penny's to let her get a better look. ]
What's the prognosis, doc? Am I a dead girl walking after all?
no subject
I don't THINK so- I mean, it doesn't look bad? But if you're that confused, it might be really bad internally.
no subject
[ Is she helping? She's helping. ]
I figure if I was gonna drop dead though, I'd be swooning as we speak. So uh, it's probably fine? Apart from the blood.
[ It's fine, she's fine, this is fine. ]
no subject
[She takes another look at the wound.]
Maybe you're hurt so bad you can't tell how badly you're hurt-
[She's getting worried.]
Maybe I should carry you? We could move faster that way.
no subject
Absolutely. You definitely should. Great idea, in fact, oh noooo...
[ She pantomimes the world's fakest swoon and slumps all up in Penny's grill like a horrible little feral girl. Awful. ]
Look at that, I can barely stand. Who knows if I'll even be able to take another step.
no subject
[What do you mean, fake, this is a serious medical situation.]
[Penny immediately shifts weight and scoops Erina up into an honest to god princess carry, so mission accomplished on that front, apparently.]
Hang on-! Or try to.
[And she's just off and running. It's a surprisingly smooth ride, honestly.]
no subject
Temporarily. ]
Holy shit, you're fast. Tell me you can fly too.
no subject
No? I think father was working on something before I came here, but- hang on. More, I mean. If you can.
[Look around, Erina, at all these big-ass trees. Or normal sized trees, But they'll still work for what Penny's about to do, hopefully.]
[With a mechanical clicking sound, the pack on Penny's back pops open and two of her swords flip gracefully out, twirling midair for a second before harpooning forward at high speed, thunking into two distant trees.]
Hang on-!
[Penny kicks off powerfully as the wires connecting her to her swords tighten, flinging her and Erina through the air like a massive slingshot.]
[It's not exactly flying, but it is a crazy high longjump done in style.]
no subject
Or more precisely, Erina alternating between gasping in some air to keep up with the velocity they're going at now and screamlaughing at the top of her lungs. It's a pretty even fifty fifty split between exhilaration and sheer terror. She's having a good time. ]
no subject
[Which, eventually, they do; the forests petering out into hilly grasslands, and one abnormally large hill. The steel-and-glass dome that formed a hub of activity and something of a safe haven for those dumped into this world, parts of it overgrown with moss and plantlife to the point that it almost looked like part of the landscape. It had been long abandoned when people first started arriving, and restoring it was a constant process.]
[But it was a safe spot for the recently concussed, and medical supplies were available.]
Okay! Okay, we're here. How are you feeling?
etemo mention cw
Uugggghhhh. [ eloquent! ] I'm gonna Hurl. This is Hurl City. [ A pause as she hiccups and then coughs. ] Oh no, wait– I'm good, I can hold off on the upchuck for now.
[ stop talking about puke oh my god ]
Re: etemo mention cw
Are you sure? We can take a second if this is still Hurl City.
cw: erina please stop talking about vomit???
Nah, I'm good. We're pulling out of Hurl City and heading for Concussion Station.
[ Erina straightens herself up as best she can and heaves in a huge breath. ]
Alright, I'm probably good to walk. But if I like, keel over and take out an entire crowd of unsuspecting passers-by, I totally warned you.
no subject
[It might be a dumb metaphor, but dang if she isn't willing to try running with it.]
[Erina might be able to walk, but. Penny just kind of. Places a supporting hand on her back.]
I appreciate the warning! And I'll catch you if you look like you're about to hurt any bystanders.
