SHINE GET
Following the sound leads to a clearing surrounded by crystal trees. In the center is what appears to be another, totally unfamiliar Reflector. She's on her knees, clutching the hem of her skirt, tears pouring down her face. However, from this close up, there's a slightly different impression to her. It sounded like anguish at first, but when paired with the half-smile she's crying through, it almost sounds a bit like she's laughing, too. ]

Um! Hey! Are you-- whoa, finally there's someone else! I thought it was gonna just be me forever but -- no, seriously, are you okay?!
no subject
[ For some reason, the idea that someone else would show up was the last thing on her mind - and on top of that, it's a really familiar voice. Wait... is that...?
It takes her a solid minute of calming down and making vague "I'm okay" gestures until she gets back to a point where she can string together an entire sentence out loud again. ]
K... [ Hiccup. Sniff. ] ...Kyouko...? Is that you? W-What is this place...?
no subject
[ She's never actually thought too hard about what she'd do if someone recognized her as Reflector Heart. She's always just... assumed it wouldn't happen what with the pink hair and the flowing white dress and all. But now she's got a stranger calling her out right to her face like this she's a bit at a loss for how to respond.
For all of two seconds maybe. ]
How'd you know it was me?! I look totally different like this! My hair's pink! How'd you work it out?
[ Yes. That's the pressing issue here. ]
no subject
Well, I mean... your voice is still the same, and I've talked to you enough times that it was pretty obvious from that...
no subject
[ ... That doesn't help. If anything, her confusion just mounts. Kyouko's fairly sure she's never seen this girl before in her life and she's certain she would remember a girl this cute! ]
You mean at school, right? Aaaare... we classmates, maybe?
[ Smooth. She's the smoothest superheroine. ]
1/2
[ OH NO. She was so caught up in the moment that she let something slip. What to do now? Lie? Run away?
Actually... wait. If this is what she looks like, what she really looks like now, and if it's Kyouko, who doesn't even seem to really get what normal people would consider weird, then maybe...
Maybe there's nothing to be afraid of. ]
2/2
It's... It's me, it's... Ryouma Ichijou...
/2
no wait i lied
are there multiple Ryouma Ichijous at her school??? that has to be it. Ryouma is super tall and this girl is very small and cute and
nnnnooo okay she needs some context for this ]
okay NOW it's done
[ she says all this very fast and without a pause for breath. Good lord. ]
You're Ichijou? Ichijou, like, Ichijou-senpai, Ichijou? Wow, that stopped sounding like a real name all of a sudden...
no subject
But... she sounds like she's trying. Kyouko is a good girl. She'll definitely at least try to understand, right? ]
I know, it's... really weird? [ She idly clutches her arm. None of the old muscle tone. It's half the size it was before. ]
I don't really know why this happened, but... I've imagined myself... looking like this before. I spent years... quietly asking God to turn me into a girl...
[ It seems like He finally listened. ]
no subject
So, if Ichijou is here and Ichijou looks like this then... Hm. Well. That's new. It takes a few moments of mental re-calibration to properly adjust to this new information but it's not as though it's the most shocking new development in her life so far. ]
Well, uh. It wasn't exactly God that did this... probably? I'm actually not sure who made this place but...
[ She rubs the back of her head, looking a little awkward. Not because of Ichijou. Just all of this. She's never had to explain this world to anyone before and she doesn't know what words to use. ]
It's called the "Imaginaerium". It's a world where you can be your ideal self. The person you really are. That sort of thing.
no subject
[ Those last words. "The person you really are." They echo in her head, over and over.
The person you really are. ]
The real me... really is...!
[ Uh oh, here come the tears again. She's not normally like this, she swears. ]

MUCH LATER THAN THE ABOVE THREAD
At its current stage, Diamond's plan was at its most fragile. The monster forcing its way into the real world, huge and powerful as it was, was still just barely strong enough to act as a conduit. Once it got through, the fusing of worlds would begin in earnest, but even then it could be stopped. All it would take was for someone to chase the key monster into the real world and destroy it. Kyouko was probably strong enough. So, Reflector Shade's role was to stop Reflector Heart before she reached it.
Yuka stood at the top of the hillside, looking down at Kyouko at the bottom. Between them stood dozens of thin, spindly crystals reaching towards the sky, like a bamboo forest. It was raining. It never rains in the Imaginaerium. ]
Reflector Heart. [ Her voice, like her expression, was cold. ]
Diamond is just doing what's best for that world. Please... don't make me fight you.
no subject
But Kyouko's not here for the monster. Not really. ]
Yuka-chan! This whole thing is crazy and you know it! How the heck does she know what's best for the real world when she's been stuck in here the whole time?!
[ She's pulled up to her full height, shoulders raised defensively and her fists clenched at her side. But her eyes aren't angry -- they're disappointed and desperate. ]
There's still time to stop all this! All we have to do is get rid of that thing before it's too late and you can help us do it!
no subject
[ She closes her eyes. ] There are so many people in this world with dreams that will never be realized. Those people who reality has abandoned... I want to see a world where they can have a chance at happiness.
I'm willing to fight for that world. Even... Even if it means fighting against you.
no subject
[ She doesn't want to believe this is Yuka, saying all this. Yuka's been hurt and scared and afraid of what the world might do but Kyouko's never thought for a moment that she might have been able to go this far. But she sounds so sure of herself. So convinced.
Kyouko was hoping this wouldn't come to blows. Now she's not so sure. ]
Please, I'm... I dunno if I could fight you. I don't want to. But I can't just walk away and let either of you do this!
no subject
[ Reflector Shade begins walking down the hill. As she does, a circle of darkness gradually spreads from her feet. ]
If you think you can create a better world than that, show me your resolve, Reflector Heart.
no subject
[ She's stalling. She knows it's stupid to stall when Yuka is this close to making the first move. But she can't bring herself to be the first one who raises her hand here. It's one thing to be expected to fight a friend, it's another altogether to be expected to fight Kyouko.
But she has to. And isn't that just the worst part? ]
You'd really listen to her rather than me? After everything?
no subject
I'm listening to her. I'm listening to you, too. But more than either... I'm going to listen to my own heart.
[[ BGM ]]
...Goodbye, Reflector Heart.
[ As she looks up, she gets close enough for the shadow expanding at her feet to cross where Kyouko's standing. From within it, a jet-black vine suddenly lashes upwards, wrapping itself around her wrist and moving at once to hurl her aside with great force. ]
no subject
So when she's thrown, Kyouko goes flying. She doesn't even have the time to give a proper cry of surprise. All that comes out is a yelp before she's winded by the impact of crashing into the ground. She skids a few feet, kicking up mud and water and shattered fragments of crystal, before she can stop herself and starts struggling up onto her knees. ]
Stop it! I don't want to fight you! I thought we were supposed to be partners, weren't we?! We're supposed to be fighting together, not each other!
no subject
Reflector Shade advances slowly but surely. As she moves forward, black vines grow from the ground in front of her, and fade and wither behind her, as the black circle follows her steps. ]
Then join me and Diamond, and help us rid this world of sadness. Join us, or face me. I won't let you answer me with half-hearted words alone.
[ It would make attacking her easier, if she would just hit back. ]
no subject
Then that just proves you don't believe anything you're saying! If you really, honestly thought this was the right thing to do, you wouldn't be trying to beat the message into me! You'd try and talk to me!
Paragon Diamond's been telling you big fat lies and you know it!
no subject
What... am I supposed to say to you...?
What can I tell you that will make you turn back? That every morning, I dread having to look at myself, and remember that I'll never be the person I want? That I can't imagine any future where I'm truly happy?
[ Several vines spiral together behind her into one enormous vine, rising over her to smash down at Kyouko. ]
I don't know if I could make you understand or not. But I know beyond any doubt that, now that I've abandoned that world, I couldn't possibly bear going back!
