If you can't stand to be alone, that means you need somebody to be with. Right? And it has to be someone who'll treat you as if you're more precious than anybody else. That's the sort of thing you'd need to heal your heart.

But you're saying that humans are no good. So, we need to find someone who isn't human who'd be able to love you. That's a pretty big change!

[Her voice is soft. Weak. Betraying just how hurt and scared she's feeling right now...]

[ Again, she reaches out to play with a little of Fauna's hair – whether affectionately or in a careless, thoughtless sort of way, it's hard to tell. ]

What you want is someone who'll love you more than anyone else, right? Who'll stop at nothing to make you and only you happy?

Like a computer running dispassionately through an algorithm, combing through its datasets to come to the optimal end result. Sometimes, it's easy to forget that Lambda isn't as human as she pretends to be but at times like this, it becomes frighteningly apparent. ]

You know that I'll never betray you. And you know that I'll always make you happy. I'll love you, just as much as I'll love any other human I come across. But you'll never be my one and only and if I come across another human who needs my help as much as you do...

[ She lets the sentence trail off and the lock of Fauna's hair spills from her hand in turn. ]
