[ And with that, they start clomping up the stairs together. ]

Good job the weather's so nice today, huh? Yeah, it's kinda chilly, but as long as the sun's out, we'll be fine!

That's true! I dunno what I'd have done if it were storming. I mean, probably just tried anyway. But I totally wouldn't have time to change into the other uniform and sneak into your school over lunch if the weather were getting in the way, and that's just sad, sad.

[ sounding moderately aghast: ] You couldn't come all this way in a storm! Especially with how rainy it gets around here! You'd get washed away and then we wouldn't be able to do anything for Valentine's!

[mopocalypse]

You'd find me in the harbour the next week, clinging onto a barrel and living on stuff that washed out to sea!

Okay, but how'd you survive a whole week out to sea? Wait, maybe it's like that one movie where it turns out the girl was a mermaid the whole time!

[ They're getting SO off track. ]

I dunno, if I were a mermaid, would I have to go around in a wheelchair and hide my tail with blankets? Or would I turn into one in water? Swimming in Phys.Ed would be pretty hard like that.

[She smiles, still holding Honoka's hand and happily waving to random passersby who are probably wondering who this even is.]

[ she's Honoka's girlfriend, duh!!! ]

I'd wheel you around everywhere! [ Honoka fistpumps with her free hand. ] And anytime you wanted to go for a swim, we'd go on like, a private beach date together!

[ Apparently, in this mermaid fantasy, Honoka owns a private beach. Don't question it. ]

Yeah, yeah! That's way better than being kept in a fish tank. Those get gross, gross, and no one ever wants to clean them. Uh, I forget which way we turn here.

Oh crap, we totally missed the stairs!

[ HONOKA, THIS IS YOUR SCHOOL. ]

Bwah! [dramatic flail. why] Okay, so it's back there, right? Let's go!

[dragging... haruka you don't go here and your memory is full of holes, why do you think you can find it]

Yeah, yeah! If we just pick whatever stairs we see and keep going up, we'll get to the roof in no time!

[ They're gonna get SO lost. ]

[mopocalypse]

That makes sense! I mean, there's only one roof, right? And you go up there constantly, so you'd obviously know.

[korekara]

Chyeah, exactly! It's like, μ's own personal headquarters!

[ A pause. ]

Actually, y'know, I never checked if we're actually allowed up on the roof like that...

[mopocalypse]

[Haruka looks off for a moment, wincing a little, before she pushes forward her usual smile.]

That's my Honochi! Your rebellious spirit is an inspiration! C'mon, let's go already!

[She tugs on Honoka's hand and goes up the nearest staircase.]

Alright!

[ And now that Honoka actually knows where they are, she's able to take the lead and pull Haruka the rest of the way up to the roof. But she stops at the door, just for a little extra Drama. ]

Okay, then... Haruharu, d'you wanna do the honors and open up the door, or should I?

[mopocalypse]

Here we go!

[Haruka takes a deep breath and pulls the door open.]

Whoa... so, so, you wanted to show me some stuff, right?

[korekara]

[ Honoka triumphantly brandishes her phone. ]

Heheh, I got all sorts of snaps of your decorations! C'mon, let's go sit down and take a look!

[ She plops herself down by the fence and pats the spot next to her for Haruka to come join. ]

[mopocalypse]

[Haruka plops down beside her and laughs, maybe a little nervously, as she leans over.]

You really liked it that much? Yay, you liked something I did... Let me see!

[korekara]

[ And Honoka by contrast just huddles up to Haruka comfortably, holding her phone out in front of them so they can both get a good look at the promised snaps. ]

Yeah, I looooved it! See?

[ And indeed, it's hard to see anything else but delight on Honoka's face in the photos she's taken. ]

[Haruka slowly lights up. She looks around and then throws her arms around Honoka, smiling and watching her flip through the pictures.]

I'm really glad! You're never going to get rid of me, you know? You'll be totally sick of me in a while. But I'm really happy you liked it...

[ "Flabbergasted" is probably an understatement to get across how aghast Honoka sounds. ]

No way, no way! I'd never get sick of you! Don't say sad stuff like that about yourself, okay? You're awesome!

Really, really? I'm so glad... I'll follow you to the ends of the earth, Honochi! And next year I'll do something even bigger!

[She hugs Honoka more tightly for a second.]

The whole world will know how great you are! I mean, at this point they kinda already do.

Eheh, I can't wait to see it! Give it all you've got, Haruharu!

[ But then she looks a bit concerned. ]

Oh, actually... you might have a tough time getting in next year. After this, they might beef up the security at school.

Don't worry! I'll come up with something way better! Besides, I could still probably sneak in. I mean, all I did to get in here this afternoon was just put on a used uniform I ordered off the internet.
