OC VOICETEST FOR EIRLYS
- Somewhere in her amiguously early-to-mid 20's with a very slim build, standing at about 5'4''. Her skin is extremely pale and her hair is long and white, though it's pinned in a bun at the back of her head with one long piece at the front hanging loose. She's kind of Stunningly Pretty, but in a slightly uncomfortably and off kind of way.
- Dressed in mostly in whites and blueish grays and armed with a small dagger and a rapier.
- A level 7 Transmutation Wizard, so she's like, pretty okay at magic but not like, The Best
- Kind of a squishy wizard, and much, much lighter than she should be, even for her size
- Hailing from a D&D game, so her experiences of tech and culture are influenced by that general fantasy time period
- Book smart, educated and well-spoken, despite her lack of memories
- Well-meaning and unable to keep her nose out of trouble if she thinks she can help
- Very formal and slightly stilted , even though by god is she trying her best
- Familiar with modern day culture or technology
- Genuinely cruel, actively malicious or mean-spirited to the average person
- Very good at social situations -- she isn't antisocial or unsociable but she isn't very good at being friendly or warm
- Particularly chatty, but she'll hold up her end of a conversation
- Strictly speaking, human
- But don't worry about that
- :)

Like my usual CMOs, I'm totally happy to roll with assumed CR, AUs, setting transplants, BASICALLY ANYTHING YA LITTLE HEART MAY DESIRE, I'M HERE TO GET ON WITH IT

Do I roll an investigation check for that or what

it's basically just money, her weapons, her spellbook and spell components, and a scholar's pack which just has some books and ink and quills cause she's a NEEEEEEEERRRRD
weirdly she doesn't seem to have any food or food adjacent supplies with her?? It's probably fine
no subject
Point is, colors like those don't stay fresh and clean like that, unless they're:
1. New, which would indicate money,
2. Very carefully cleaned, which would also indicate money and the fussiness that comes with certain types of money, or
3. Magic, or something. Which is also money.
So Therion's been surreptitiously watching this dainty-looking girl for some time now. She kind of looks like she's never even been outside. The translucence of her skin, her off mannerisms--they all speak of not having been touched in any way by the filth of the world.
So. Money, money, money. Only the rich can afford to wall themselves in like that. And, even better, she should be an easy mark.
But he must have miscalculated or something, because when Therion "accidentally" bumps into her turning a corner, the rough impact knocks her further away than expected. She's lighter than he thought. Instead of snatching what seems like a book, he catches her arm instead and helps hold her up.
Quick. Think of something.]
...Sorry.
[He lets go and steps back.]
You okay?
no subject
Her stumbling is about as inelegant as you'd expect and when Therion catches her arm (and her skin, even through the fabric of her sleeve, is unsettlingly cold), she looks – not quite upset, but the otherwise smooth lines of her face crease into a frown.
But then she straightens up, and doesn't bother brushing herself down – she just lets her hands dangle by her sides as she sort of... stares him down. ]
... Yes, I'm uninjured. [ She still? Hasn't broken eye contact with him? Eirlys please ] Was I in the way?
no subject
He crosses his arms so they're tucked invisibly beneath his shawl, shrugs big, and shakes his head.
Why was her arm so cold?]
Eh. I should've been paying more attention.
[He means that, sincerely. She's odder than expected, and this could either be very good or very bad for someone in his profession. He shifts back, more out of the way, so that if she follows, neither of them will be further jostled by foot traffic.]
Pardon my saying, but you're not from around here, are you?
no subject
No, this area isn't at all familiar to me.
[ Which doesn't necessarily mean she isn't from here but – well, that's a much more complicated answer than he probably wanted, so she decides not to give it. For all intents and purposes, it's the truth. ]
I'm simply traveling. Taking stock of the local history as best I can.
no subject
[That's not a common phrase. The local color, sure, or the local wares, but what kind of person goes digging for history?]
So you're some kind of scholar?
no subject
[ Even with her tone as flat as it generally seems to be, these words still seem a bit rehearsed. At the very least, they're a rote explanation, even if there's apparently nothing shady about it. ]
Do you happen to be from this region?
no subject
Can't say I am. I know it well enough, though.
[Scholars... also know a lot more than they think they do, sometimes. Wouldn't be the first time he got a lead off a bookworm.]
Looking for anything in particular?
sincere apologies if i typo, my gf's dnd character is named eirlyss
Shit shit shit, Eirlys, you okay?
[She's hurrying to your side, frantically checking for any wounds. Need some healing?]
lil blanket cw for some blood and injury talk
[ ... so she says, and so you'd think, just looking at her expression and taking in her general lack of concern. But there's a bloody and painful looking bite on her shoulder that she's covering with her hand to keep it from bleeding too much so uh, maybe don't take her at her word. ]
Are you quite well, Jaida?
continued blanket cw for blood/injury talk
Nothing t'be - augh, why are you always like this?! Hold still...
[Despite the frustration, she's careful as she gingerly moves Eirlys's hand away. Ugh, the wound looks awful - the bite looks pretty deep and the blood hasn't slowed down much. Jaida is used to such things - being a Cleric means you see all sorts of wounds - so while she doesn't flinch, she knows she has to heal it soon.
With a few words under her breath and a movement of her hands, her palm glows with the familiar divine energy of a Cure Wounds spell. She nods in satisfaction as the magic takes hold, the wound closing up. Frowning at the torn clothing, she taps it, fixing it up with a Mending.]
Can't really fix up the blood, sorry. But - you better?
[Quietly, Jaida's re-assessing her own magic reserves. She's mostly tapped for the day, maybe only has energy for one more fairly simple spell. The bite has her worried though, the locals said something about some monsters being poisonous...]
continued blanket cw for blood/injury talk but probably the last of it
She's a good patient, even if she's not particularly good at the "owning up to an injury" part, sitting quietly and patiently for Jaida to be done with her work. When prompted, she stretches her arm out slowly, flexing her fingers to feel the pull of each muscle and tendon – but there's no pain anymore, just the discomfort of rapidly cooling blood sticky on her clothes and against her skin. ]
Yes – you've done a very clean job of it. There's no more pain.
[ As if to prove it, she reaches out and sets her hand on Jaida's shoulder, then repeats herself: ]
Are you quite well?
[ Don't think she hasn't noticed that you're out of breath. ]
tfw you have to figure out how to explain game mechanics and spells in a narrative sense
- oh, right, Eirlys had asked a question, hadn't she?]
More or less?
[A shrug. Look, she's a cast-y cleric, not a fight-y one. Any damage she got isn't enough to worry about for the moment.]
There's something I wanna check though, the villagers said something about poison in the area...
[This is an absolutely stupid move and she knows it, but she uses the last of her magic for the day to cast Detect Poison and Disease. Any poisons, poisonous creatures or diseases within 30 feet of her or were the villagers just full of shit?]
Jamjar First Impressions?
[Buuuut, it WAS a new place, and if she was looking for a way home she might as well also look around in general, right? Everything was entirely unfamiliar here-]
Miss Winter?!
[-mostly. Maybe?]
no subject
She's been keeping to herself and not really making any acquaintances here – which is why it's a surprise when an unfamiliar girl calls out to her with such, well, familiarity. Eirlys stops sharply and gives her a once-over. ]
I beg your pardon.
[ I promise she isn't mad penny her face is just kind of Like That ]
no subject
[Even that greeting and expression are worryingly similar to Specialist Schnee, honestly.]
[...is there another, long lost Schnee sister, is that's what's happening here.]
[Because that would be exactly like her romantic dramas, and she's not sure how to deal with that.]
You're not from Remnant, are you?
no subject
Who is this woman you say I resemble?
[ Answering a question with a question is kind of suspicious, but she can't help it. She has to ask. ]
no subject
She's walking up to Eirlys, looking around in confusion.]
... Where... is this?
no subject
... Would you mind being more specific?
[ She's not being difficult, she just wants to make sure this girl gets the answer she actually wants to whatever question she's asking. ]
no subject
no subject
[ She's working up to a point. I promise. ]
no subject
Look, Stealth is not an Intelligence skill.]
no subject
If my being here is at all a problem, I can take my leave.
[ She doesn't sound particularly bothered about it, either way. ]
no subject
Of course not, darling. I wouldn't want to stop anyone from gaining knowledge...
no subject
Then may I ask why you've seen fit to interrupt me?
[ Going by the words alone, you'd expect her to sound sharp or even accusatory – but something about her flat, calm tone just steals any bite they might have had. She really is just posing a question. ]
no subject
no subject
Then I suppose I don't have much choice but to help. What are you seeking?
no subject
no subject
[ She says it quite calmly and off-handedly, despite what an absolutely shut-down of an answer that was.
In her defense, though, it's the truth: she can't tell him who her master was. It's not like Eirlys herself knows. ]
Will that be all?
