No, no, I've got it! You're probably already sick of moving boxes so I can handle this one, eheh.

[ She follows Miriam into the apartment, carefully stepping out of her shoes once she's inside and setting them beside the door. ]

This isn't a bad time, is it? I wanted to stop by and see how you were doing, but if you two are still busy I can always come back again later.

[mimos]

No, no, it isn't an issue—it's probably about time we take break anyway. [ Leading Sonico inside, she points to the mostly uncluttered kitchen. ] If you need a place to put the box down, the counter is least cluttered place.

[ However, the rest of the apartment is certainly not as tidy as the kitchen, with packed boxes scattered everywhere, although in organised fashion. ]

Sorry for the mess, we're still trying to get everything in place.

No, you don't have to apologize! You've got so much to move in, I'd be more surprised if you'd already gotten everything together already. I hadn't even gotten all my boxes moved in by this point when I was moving...

[ she carries her box through as she says all this, keeping an eye out for a free spot on the counter. once she's sure she won't be plopping the box down on anything she sets it on the counter and turns back to Miriam with a smile. ]

How are you and Jay-kun doing with everything so far, then?

[mimos]

[ Her cheeks flush slightly at the question. Hearing "you and Jay"... it makes her think like they're a pair. Well, they are co-workers—practically partners, really—but not pair.

Trying to hide her embarrassment from overthinking, she glaces downwards at a box and twirls a few loose strands of hair around her finger.]

Ah, well, we've been rather busy, both with the move and the Future Foundation, but... we're doing good. [ Pushing pass her embarrassment, Miriam flashes a soft smile at Sonico. ]

Good, good...! I'm glad. I thought about coming over a little sooner but I didn't want to get in your way if it turned out you were busy. It looks like I made the right call -- oh, b--but if you'd needed any help or anything, you could've called in. In fact, if there's anything you need, you can always call us up and let us know, okay? If we're going to be living so close now, I'd like to take advantage of it.

[ She's been waiting for so long for more of her family to gather in Lumiose. You bet she's going to revel in this as much as she can.

With that, she opens the box she'd brought and starts digging around in it. ]

Whereabouts is Jay-kun, by the way? I've brought some things for you both to help you settle in a little.

[Like a nosy snoop mentioned by his own name, Jay-- well, he doesn't suddenly appear. He walks from one of the bedrooms to the living room, but with all of his jingling bell accessories carefully taken off and stowed away so they don't get lost in the mess of unpacking his stocking-clad feet don't make a sound on the floor. So Miriam and Sonico could be forgiven for thinking that it seems that way.]

Oh, I'm right here. [He cheerfully remarks from behind them, hands jammed into the pockets of the hoodie he's wearing. Instead of his usual ponytail, his hair has been pulled back into a bun on the back of his neck; unfortunately, with how thin and fine his hair is, not even a few judiciously-placed star pins can keep pieces of it from slipping and falling around his face.] Hello, Sonico. It's nice to see you. [He turns to Miriam, looking entirely unrepentant:] I've finished the second shelf. Whenever you're ready, I'll need your help picking it up and moving it over to the wall.

[ At the sound of his voice, Sonico jumps a bit and whips around. Even after so long she's still not used to the way he seems to just melt in and out of the room as he pleases. But her look of surprise quickly becomes a smile and she beams openly at him. ]

It's nice to see you too, eheh. I'm sorry I turned up while you're still doing things...! If there's anything I could help out with then just let me know.

[ With a small yelp, Miriam latches onto Sonico tightly. After a moment, she realizes who spoke and slowly turns her head to face him, eyebrows angrily furrowed and her cheeks puffed. ]


Jaaaaaay... [ There's an unmistakable sound of indignation in her voice as she glowers. And then, with a audible hmph, she sharply turns her head away. ]

[It's a monumental effort, but Jay manages not to chuckle. But he can't seem to keep a smile, slow and sly, off of his face. He does make every effort to be heard when he's not working outside of the places he calls home: in Kalos, he's become quite fond of a pair of jingling charm bracelets. Which is exactly why he doesn't want to break them or lose them, so they've been put away this afternoon for safekeeping. He's even been very good about warning Miriam about his comings and goings today. This is the first time he's intentionally snuck up on her. Not that he. Seems sorry about it, even a little bit...]

Oh, I don't know... unpacking has been going fairly smoothly. [He pulls his his hands out of his pockets and begins the process of unfastening his hairpins and dismantling his bun; looks like the feeling of loose hair is getting to him.] Well, there is one thing. We've been at this for a while, but I can't convince Miriam to sit down. Would you mind hanging around and distracting her for a little while? [Sweetly:] It'd be rude to work in front of a guest, don't you think?

Oh, she won't take a break? Then I guess I'll just have to distract you both and make sure you do.

[ Your pink mom is onto you, Miriam.

With that box opened up now, Sonico starts digging through it again, taking even as she's rooting around. ]

Taking a break now would be good timing, anyway! I brought you some food and some other things for the house so if you'd like to eat, we could sort through what I've brought.

[ Bribery with food. She's breaking out the big guns. ]

[ Of course he would bring up that it would be rude to work in front of company. He knows there no way she could dispute that, especially since he was, regrettably, right. Even if there was so much more to do, she couldn't refuse an offer from Sonico.

With a clap of her hands, all of Miriam's previous anger seems to disappear, and she smiles brightly. ] Ehehe, that sounds like a wonderful idea, doesn't it, Jay?
