CMO POST
(it stands for 'contact my OCs')
(format lovingly stolen from Prof)
- Caelina Gwynlaw, a travelling adventurer and healer from the country of Adryae, a faux-European country in a Ye Olde Fantasy Setting. She's studious and a bit of a bookwork with little self esteem, but when properly motivated she's a force to be reckoned with. She's a scholar educating herself in magic and history but currently taking a break from her studies to travel the country in hopes of healing a plague known as the Withering. She possesses the ability to manipulate and control animating energy (quintessence) that she channels through song and manifests as her healing abilities.
- Alalia Ridgely, a knight from the same country as Caelina, though her story takes place centuries later than the former's. Having trained from a young age, Alalia was knighted at age twenty-three and is still a relative newbie when she awakens to a powerful but taxing magical ability that allows her to manipulate animating energy through song. From this, she stumbles into a centuries old conspiracy that results in her going on the run to avoid a wrongful arrest. While she puts on the front of a professional with a stiff upper lip, she's firey and brash with a snappy temper and a fierce sense of justice.
- Elizaveta et du Gimora, the youngest princess of a fantasy kingdom known as Gimora. Desperate to prove herself to her family, who she believes values her as a political tool and little else, she joins a band of adventurers to identify and eventually retrieve a relic with her family's crest on it. Eventually ends up punching God in the face. Her heart's in the right place, even if she's a bit of a brat on the outside. She's snobbish and a bit headstrong and prone to getting herself in trouble.
- Erina Estival, your typical Light Novel Superpowered Teenager. She is a type of human known as a 'Synchronic', which grants her special abilities, chief of which is the power to bond ('Sync') with a sentient weapon known as a Key. Erina's key is a zweihander called, uh, Zwei. Her special ability is to hear the thoughts and voices of Keys she herself is not Synced with. Sort of sassy and snarky and comes across like she's trying a bit too hard to be a standoffish edgelord. She's actually very energetic and passionate under the surface. Gay for two things: haunted swords and women.
- Camellia, a ~spooky ghost~ from a faux-Victorian England setting. In life, she was the prim and proper daughter of the Evandale family. She met her end at the ends of a childhood friend turned spurned suitor and manifested as a ghost sometime later, with only a few fleeting memories of her life. She possesses the engagement ring that was buried with her body and is very!! lonely!! PLEASE GIVE HER SOME COMPANY
This post is mostly here to shake out some 'canon' threads with castmates for the above OCs but it's ALSO here for anybody who just wants to touch some of my stupid kids. JUST LET ME KNOW WHO SOUNDS MOST LIKE YOUR BAG AND LET'S GET IT ON.
Like my usual CMOs, I'm totally happy to roll with assumed CR, AUs, setting transplants, BASICALLY ANYTHING YA LITTLE HEART MAY DESIRE, I'M HERE TO GET ON WITH IT

Elizaveta
But if you get a few drinks in Sawyer, sometimes he gets in a mood.]
I'm not... [Hic. He just veered directly into this topic with no preamble.] I'm not saying you're immoral as a person. I'm just saying that there's no such thing as an morally-sound monarchy in general.

Oh, Sawyer. [ she says this in the kind of condescending voice one uses when explaining why one and one are not five to a tantrum-throwing toddler. ] That's obviously the case in your silly world, but things are quite different here. Are you really telling me you haven't picked up on that by now?

[ is she deflecting?? is this really the hill she's choosing to die on??? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL ]

[ not stated but implied: Obviously Sawyer because Eliza has never done a single thing wrong in her life. ]

You have absolutely no proof whatsoever to speak of! You may have knowledge of the royalty of your own world, but the royal line of Gimora guides its people with the gentle hand of a fair and just ruler!

Then-- then I suggest we prove this definitively! How would you feel in taking part in an experiment with me?!

Anika
Today, Anika got home from school and found that Alexandrine Arceneaux d'Athenai had somehow gotten into her room and was lying on her bed, playing with her DS. She tossed it aside when Anika came in. "FINALLY you're here. I'm booooooooooored!"
no subject
Then the spluttering starts.
There's a lot of questions to be asked here but obviously, the most important one is "How did you get into my room?!"
no subject
"Magic, obviously. If I can't steal stuff anymore I gotta do SOMETHING with it!"
no subject
"Can't you-- I don't know! Do something productive? Get a job? Volunteer somewhere? Go look for your Regalia?!
no subject
Instinctive sass in response to the implication that she's being lazy. This is the bearer of the regalia of wisdom which is why we are all doomed.
no subject
“But I also have an actual life! I have to go to school, do homework—all that sort of stuff! What’s your excuse?”
no subject
She shrugged, looking slightly embarrassed. "It's less fun doing it on your own."
no subject
"Then why not actually let us help you instead of running off and causing so much trouble? We're all supposed to be in this together, aren't we?"
Which are rich words coming from the girl who pitched a fit and refused to join the team at first, but that's character development for you.
no subject
She was working on being a team player. Honest. She just wasn't quite there yet.
you know who
Which is why she is currently out in the country with Caelina with a pair of horses. She didn't have Lyubov's skill with them but she did learn a few things over the years. Pushing the mare up a hill she points excitedly.] Look! You can see the ocean. The Odvek Forest shouldn't be far, now.
[The ancient forest with it's vampires and living trees was a sight that she was sure Caelina would enjoy.] We might even be able to see the dryads blossom if the locals let us get close.
no subject
Goodness. [ She encourages her own mare up the hill as well, so she can join Synneve in gazing out across the sea. ] It's so vast... is this the very edge of the coastline, then?
[ She's only seen glimpses of the sea, back in Adryae and this ocean utterly dwarves it. ]
no subject
Ha... I wore the same expression the first time I saw it, too. [Though, back then the fishing village in the distance had only been a few buildings big.] It is. You could travel the entire coast of mainland Cennost starting here--there's other ports, of course, but I have a fondness for this area.
[Turning around slightly, she pointed at an expansive forest in the distance where the tallest trees seemed to dwarf the mountains behind. Her sense of pride was greater than ever.] There's the Odvek. The twins were from this area back when it barely was considered a city-state at all. I think there might be a statue dedicated to Lyubov in the village still...
[She stops for a moment, shaking her head.] Forgive me. I get so excited these days.
Camellia II: The Revengeance
[Good news was, she'd finished up that last job with time to spare, so she didn't have anything lined up for the next few days.]
[Bad news was that meant she had jack-all to do for the next few days, and no one to enjoy that free time with since she'd made sure to fit her latest heist into a gap in her schedule when nobody she knew needed her for any missions, backup, or other favors.]
[Furthermore, she was spending that freetime bored out of her goddamn mind and driving aimlessly around an area she could only define as 'somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, probably, I'm like forty percent sure', and debating with herself whether or not to stop for the night and get some sleep.]
[Another good news/bad news split: the nice thing about sleeping in your car was that when your car was magic, you could keep an entire bedroom in the trunk. The bad news was that bedroom was pretty much fucking useless if you just couldn't get to sleep somehow.]
[Finally, tired of trying to doze off, Jail had climbed back out of the trunk and into the car proper, reclining the driver's seat and flopping into it with a soft thump, tilting her head back so she could look through the open window at the stars.]
[That was one last piece of good news, she had to admit: wherever the fuck this forest was, at least the view was beautiful.]

So. Not the longest it's ever been. Not exactly an age. But still a terribly long time to spend with no company. It's been quiet, and lord knows Camellia is very sick of quiet.
What a surprise, then, when she hears the telltale roar of a car approaching. There's no point in getting her hopes up when she knows it's just going to speed on through. But then it comes closer and closer and eases to a stop and Camellia realizes that the stranger driving this car appears to be just... staying for the night. Do... do they know where they are? This is a very out-of-the-way part of the forest to just set up for the night.
It takes her a little while to pluck up the courage to go and investigate. Not that she expects to get much out of it, either way. But there's always the chance, isn't there?
Which is why, in the dead of night, in this spooky old forest, the brisk sound of footsteps crunching through the undergrowth can be heard. Which is strange, because it's obvious from even the most cursory of glances that there's nobody around. ]
no subject
[She doesn't get up from her relaxed, languid pose, but her gaze roams warily over the area and one hand casually drifts down to grab the handle of something stored beside her seat, just in case she needs a weapon.]
[Still keeping up the facade of being lazily at ease, she calls out:]
Real damn pretty out here tonight, huh. You wanna come over and say hi?
no subject
And while there's no one visibly there, it's easy to tell that there is, indeed, someone present – it hangs in the air, something not exactly magical but something that is obviously not human. ]
Jail's using her analysis power, up to you what she sees.
[Luckily, Jail uses more than just her eyes to see, when she needs to. She reaches for the tiniest amount of power, carefully letting her more magical senses activate, and looks, her gaze reaching past the physical world and into the structure of what is.]

much like the last one, it's Kai's fault (surprising absolutely nobody). also much like the last one, there is definitely something sketchy going on. Kai had sworn up and down that nobody was going to come looking for the new girl. everything was 100% above-board and legal, but... Kai had also been remarkably close-lipped about where she'd come from, for being... well, himself. and the things he so carefully hadn't said had been that much louder for it— loud enough it isn't difficult to make some guesses.
(he'd picked her up somewhere in the inner system. her prosthetics—the reason he'd claimed he'd dropped her off with his da—are apparently a completely unknown kind of tech. her body has been modified an absolutely absurd amount, in the kind of way you'd only see on someone expecting to live in a hostile environment for a long amount of time, and shows the wear to match.)
however, despite some of those implications, so far she seems almost aggressively harmless: quiet. shy. ...kind of air-headed, even, though that might have more to do with the fact she's apparently got near-total amnesia. for example— ]
Is the sky supposed to be that color?
