[ Emiya Shirou definitely had some important things to tell Honoka. Of course, they went to different schools - she was at an all girl's school, after all, and he? He was practically a nobody. She was an idol - literally - and although sometimes he did help out at Homura when he was invited over, considering his skills as a chef, he felt that the leader of μ's was oblivious to his feelings.

And it was fine that way.

But today, he decides to change things up. He's going to attempt and confess. There's a lump in his throat and he's not certain that this is a good idea, but... he'll try nevertheless, as he invites her to his own home. Nobody's here today, thank the gods, but that fact alone makes him even more nervous.

So he tries to calm down his nerves by cooking something for lunch. Maybe if he confesses after a hearty meal, it'll be perfect. He has rather high confidence in his cooking, after all. Now that's said and done, he soon exits the kitchen (apron still on, naturally) and sets the table. ]

I hope this is alright, Kousaka. Just let me know if you need seconds. There's rice in the cooker and I have some more food in the kitchen.

[ Busy as she is with μ's, Honoka always, always makes time for a friend. Especially if that friend happens to be a cutie pie and even more so if they're offering to cook dinner. μ's has a live show coming up soon, so they've all been practicing even harder than usual -- Umi's been like a drill sargent and while Honoka understands (and besides, it's fun!), it's nice to be able to have a break and recharge with some delicious food.

She regards the dinner with bright eyes and a look of completely uninhibited glee on her face, floating her chopsticks idly through the air, unsure of where to start first. ]

This is amaaaaziiiiing! This is such an awesome spread, Emiya-kun! Aah, I don't even know where to start...

I know! I'll take the chef's recommendation! What should I start dinner with?

Ha, ha... you think so?

[ Although on a normal occasion he'd say that it wasn't much, today is definitely different from most days. Sitting up straight with what seems to be a rather sheepish smile, he gestures at each plate accordingly as he speaks. ]

I'd say start with the miso before moving onto the tonkatsu; then you can move on with some of the sushi. I just hope you enjoy all of it. It took me a little while to make all of this.

Alright then, I'm digging in! Thanks for the food!

[ she carefully scoops up the bowl of miso and blows on it, before giving it a sip. Her face immediately lights up, stars in her eyes and all -- it's the perfect temperature, hot without scalding her lips, and the flavour's just exactly as she likes it. She takes a huge swallow and lowers the bowl so she can start gushing. ]

Emiya-kun this is amazing! Even better than amazing, this is like... capital-A amazing, with five stars!

[ don't mind her if she just stuffs some of the tonkatsu in her mouth to follow up that miso. ]

[ To be honest, seeing her dig in like that reminds him of Saber and it makes him crack up a rather nostalgic smile. He's always glad when someone else enjoys his food. It makes his heart swell in such a way that he thought would be nigh impossible.

Plus, his cheeks are burning a scarlet at the compliment. ]

Well, I try. [ This is more than try Shirou... ] But really, I'm just glad you like it, Kousaka.

[ He genuinely means it, too. He'll dig in himself, following suit, because he's definitely going to be eating a lot tonight. It would have been nice if Fuji-nee or Sakura were here to make this a little less awkward on his part, but he doesn't mind this, either. ]

I don't just like it, I love it! The perfect thing to recharge with after a hard day's work!

[ she pauses in what's most certainly the start of an impassioned little speech to shovel some more rice into her mouth and follow that with a gulp of miso. Maybe her manners aren't the best right now but all this food is just too good for her to put any mind to it. and besides, it's like a compliment to the chef, right? ]

I feel like I could go twenty laps, head-to-head with Eli-chan after a meal like this! It's amazing!

Well. Maybe not twenty whole laps but-- but my point still stands!

[ It really is. He doesn't mind this sight at all; it's somewhat nostalgic to him, and besides, coming from Kousaka makes it all the more sweeter. ]

I'm really glad. I did this all for you, after all, so hearing you say things like this makes me happier than you can ever imagine. [ Which is true, surprisingly; especially when you keep in mind how empty this boy is supposed to be. She brings life into his life. ]

[ her expression warms a little at hearing that -- it's obvious this big meal's for her, but hearing him say something like that makes it even better. she'd been beaming at him before, but now her smile grows softer and a little more appreciative. ]

Thanks, Emiya-kun. Really.

I can't believe you went to all this trouble just for me...!

... Well, I wanted to impress you, you know? [ It's definitely a confession of sorts; although it's not like he can say that he wouldn't do this for anyone else. He would. That's just how he is. ]

I mean, even though we are friends, you're still a famous idol.

[ and the moment those words leave his lips, Honoka immediately jabs her chopsticks towards him, pointing accusingly -- honoka, no, don't point with your chopsticks, you know how rude that is. ]

Nope! Nuh-uh! Take that back, right now, Emiya-kun!

Me being an idol doesn't matter in the least -- we're friends! So don't feel like you have to impress me or anything just because of that!
